Chicago–Dunelands–Chicago is one of our flagship events and among the most scenic 300Ks on the calendar. This ACP brevet links Chicago with the beachfront town of Bridgman, delivering smooth miles, lake views, and a long, satisfying day on the bike.
The route avoids the industrial corridors of Northwest Indiana, instead guiding riders through the natural beauty of Indiana Dunes National Park and into Michigan. The majority of the ride unfolds on paved, low-stress bike paths—including Chicago’s Lakefront Trail—with newly added trail segments in Michigan continuing to improve this already excellent route.
At the turnaround, refuel with Haymarket Pizza before heading back west. Expect gelato stops, newly opened lakeshore roads, a pass through the infamous Bog of Sadness (IYKYK), and a can’t-miss glimpse of the Century of Progress Homes. The reward late in the day is unforgettable: the Chicago skyline rising from the eastern shore of Lake Michigan.
Scenic, smooth, and quietly demanding, this is a must-ride 300K for anyone building toward longer distances—or chasing a truly memorable day on the bike.
