The Chicago–Milwaukee–Chicago 300K is one of our flagship rides and marks our first ACP 300K of the year—a true gateway to the longer distances that experienced randonneurs never stop talking about. Think double century effort, elevated by views, vibes, and the kind of food stops that make a long day on the bike unforgettable.
The route heads north from Chicago to Milwaukee and back in a single day, blending trail miles with safe, low-traffic roads. Early in the day, riders will enjoy the newly paved Robert McClory Bike Path up to the Illinois–Wisconsin border, with long stretches of Lake Michigan views to ease you into the miles.
Along the way, expect highlights like a stop at Honeypie, classic Casey’s General Store root beer floats, and, if the timing aligns, late-night tacos in Highland Park before the final stretch back to the city.
Feeling nervous? Don’t be. An audax-style group will form up for riders looking for a chill, no-drop pace and good company throughout the day and into the night. This ride is challenging, but it’s also supportive—and a perfect step up for riders ready to test themselves at the 300K distance.
We roll out at 5:00 AM sharp and expect to finish around midnight. Lights and reflective gear are required for night riding. Bailout options are built in, with access to Metra in Kenosha (mile 59/147) and Amtrak in Milwaukee (mile 101), so you’re never truly stuck.
Disclaimer: Routes may change after a pre-ride due to road conditions, construction, or safety concerns. Any updates will be shared with registered riders.
